It's over

Well folks, I did not win.

I could not have put any more into this contest than I did. I worked my ass off, but had fun doing it. It just sucks that I didn't win.

Now I'm just waiting for the call. I'm fairly certain that a rep from Purina will contact me to tell me I didn't win. So, that should be fun, huh? I'm sure they won't want to make the call either. I don't like making "bad news" phone calls to patients, so I can't imagine that calling me to say "Hey! You didn't win! Thanks for playing!" will be any more fun.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who helped me along the way. My husband Craig and my family, my trainer Lauren Tisdale, all the fine experts for my Great 8 series, all my Facebook friends, and Stacey from Behind the Bit (who put on a fantastic campaign for me). Thanks everyone.

So that's it. One month of flurry and excitement and now it's back to normal.

Anyone else want to sponsor me to go?

Yeah, didn't think so.

Booo, I'm sorry you didn't win. I know I voted as much as I could! Was the experience worth it anyway?

Sheri,

I'm the only person (besides yourself) who can fully understand all the time and effort you put into this contest. It was a lot of driving, riding, interviewing and late nights. The end result is a month-long series of daily blog posts that are interesting, informative and a whole lot of fun to watch.

I know you're proud of the work you did, and you should be.

In the end, it was out of our hands as to who won. Sadly, it seems like it was also out of the hands of people actually voting, too.

I'm pretty amazed at the support you received from, well, from everyone.

I love you, sweetheart. I'm sorry it ended this way.

I am so sorry you did not win, maybe purina will listen to what Stacy at the behind the bit suggested and send everyone...you were and are so professional with your interviews, I hate it win contest are put to the "popularity" vote, it is always the undeserving candidate who wins in those cases. (just look at american idol), regardless, we love your blog and look forward to reading it everyday...from one working dressage mom to another :)

I'm disappointed for you Sheri. I really enjoyed your posts throughout the contest and I feel that you deserved to win. I do not know how you found the time to prepare, film, edit, and write everything for this contest.

You must be a Super Dressage Mom!

Sheri: I'm so terribly disappointed for you! Your Sheri's Great 8 was brilliant--and very enjoyable and inspiring to watch. I have no way to understand why you didn't win--you certainly deserved it. I, too, emailed Purina and told them to send you, as well! In any event, good luck with your future endeavors.

I'm sorry you didn't win. I thought you put so much more into this competition than everybody else.

Will you post your Great 8 and other entries here on your blog? I've been trying to navigate the Lexington site to find all 8 of them, but can't seem to track them down.

Spend some extra time with your beautiful horse--that will make you feel better for sure!

It's a shame that you didn't win. I tried to vote everyday for you. You did a great job and hopefully had some fun to go along with all the hard work.

First of all, what Craig said. Bob and I totally loved your vaulting video in particular -- the work stands by itself and I'm glad someone took the time to do it.

I believe that this will bring you new opportunities and a broader readership -- I'm so glad you chose to participate and that you put so much of yourself into it. Congratulations Sheri, well done.

I admit there were a few days I forgot to vote, but I did try to remember as much as I could. Sorry you did not win! :(
